Five benefits of practicing yoga online
In just a few minutes, online yoga can offer you a break from the hustle and bustle of life. Whether you are seeking a quick recharge during a busy day or a moment of quiet before bedtime, yoga videos have many advantages. Let's dive into the five benefits of practicing yoga on-demand.
I really enjoy teaching yoga in-person for many reasons (I might list them in another blog post, hehe). Unfortunately, sometimes, my teaching schedule doesn’t fit the yogi*nis’ needs. That is why I have decided to launch my own YouTube Channel.
Five online yoga benefits
Let me share what I believe are the five major benefits of practicing yoga with videos on-demand.
Flexibility: Whether you are a desk warrior, a stay-at-home parent or a student with a demanding agenda, sticking to a schedule can be challenging. Yoga on-demand offers you the convenience you need. Indeed, you can practice whenever you can. Wherever you are. Be it in the comfort of your home, outdoors or at the hotel gym. The only downside is that you won’t have any excuses to not unroll your mat.
(Almost) no commitment: Yoga videos on-demand don’t require you to sign up for a specific membership. You can practice as much as you want and try out various yoga styles and instructors before finding the ones that suit you best. The only commitment you’ll have to do is to yourself, as online yoga heavily relies on self-discipline and inner motivation.
Accessibility: Online yoga videos are available to almost anyone. The only pre-requisite is to have an internet connection (and consult your physician regarding the applicability of any recommendations). For instance, this makes yoga on-demand perfect for frequent travellers. During my consultant career, in 2018 I only spent 7 days in a row in my own flat. I wouldn’t have been able to keep up with my practice without these YouTube videos.
Privacy: Setting foot into a yoga studio can be intimidating. Be it because you are just getting started with your yoga path, or you might prefer practicing between your own four walls. All while sharing your experience and enjoying the support of the viewers and subscribers of the yoga online community.
Adaptability: You can track your progress at your fingertips and redo previous sessions as many times as you want. It also allows you to notice any changes and improvements in your practice.
In short
Both online classes and physical yoga have their advantages. Ultimately, it depends on your preferences, intentions and circumstances. While some people might prefer the flexibility and convenience of online yoga, others may value the personalized guidance that in-person classes can provide. All in all, it doesn’t have to be an “either or” decision. How about having both as part of your practice? Let me know in the section below what is your experience and whether you have a preference (and why).
